The lion was euthanized after sustaining a gunshot wound to one of its legs, following the devastating incident that left many grieving. Olawuyi, a 59-year-old veterinary technologist, had been caring for the lion since its cubhood. Fresh details have surfaced regarding the incident at the zoological garden of OAU in Ile-Ife, Osun state, shedding light on the longstanding relationship between the zookeeper and the lion, which spanned nine years.
