Otti Unveils ₦6.7 Billion Road Project in Rivers, Completed in Record Time of 8 Months
Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has officially inaugurated the 10.98 km Aleto-Ogale-Ebubu-Eteo road, aimed at boosting economic activities in Rivers State.
The project, costing ₦6.7 billion, was executed within a record time of eight months. The inauguration ceremony, held in Ebubu, Eleme Local Government Area, coincided with the commemoration of Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s first year in office.
Speaking at the event, Governor Fubara highlighted the significance of the road as a bypass, alleviating pressure from the deteriorating East-West road. He emphasized his administration’s commitment to good governance and supporting initiatives that positively impact the lives of citizens, aligning with the federal government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Fubara revealed that the project, awarded on August 14, 2023, had been fully funded and executed despite the financial challenges inherited from the previous administration. He praised Governor Otti for his dedication to delivering good governance to the people of Abia and invited him to inaugurate the road, acknowledging Otti’s integrity and impactful leadership.
Governor Otti, in turn, commended Governor Fubara for his service-oriented approach to governance, emphasizing that leadership is about serving the people. He expressed confidence in Fubara’s ability to continue delivering development projects for the welfare of Rivers State residents.
The paramount ruler of Eleme, Philip Obele, expressed gratitude for the project on behalf of his community, pledging support for Governor Fubara’s administration.
Dignitaries at the ceremony included Uche Secondus, former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Orji Ngofa, former Nigerian Ambassador to the Netherlands, and traditional rulers.
