The Kano State Fire Service, under the leadership of Hassan Muhammad, has reported that over N132.45 million worth of property was destroyed in various fire outbreaks across the state in November. Despite the significant losses, the service successfully rescued three individuals during the month.

Spokesperson for the Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Abdullahi, confirmed the details of the service’s operations in a statement, revealing that the fire service responded to 43 fire calls in November. Unfortunately, three lives were lost in these incidents, but four others were rescued.

In addition to the property losses, the fire service was able to save assets valued at N310.6 million. The statement also noted that the service received six false alarms and five rescue calls during the same period. The fire service’s personnel responded promptly to emergency situations from its 29 fire stations across the state.

Abdullahi used the opportunity to urge the public to exercise caution, especially during the ongoing harmattan season, to prevent fire-related incidents. He also advised motorists to drive carefully and adhere to traffic regulations, particularly those traveling during the Christmas holiday season, to reduce the risk of road accidents.
