Toyin Abraham Vows to Keep Political Affiliations Private After Social Media Exchange
2 min readNollywood star Toyin Abraham has declared her intention to maintain privacy regarding her political affiliations in the future, citing a lesson learned from a recent social media interaction on X.
Abraham engaged in a series of responses shedding light on promises conveyed to her by President Bola Tinubu’s camp during the 2023 general election campaign.
The exchange initiated when a user identified as Otunba (@ManLikeIcey) on X wrote, “Maybe one day Toyin Abraham will divulge the plans Bola Tinubu shared with her to the public. I strongly believe we deserve to hear. Thank u @toyin_abraham1.”
In her reply, Abraham disclosed being assured of “good governance and happiness for everyone” by Tinubu’s team.
Responding with candor, Abraham also expressed hesitation about facing public scrutiny should the promises fail to materialize, stating, “If things didn’t go well why do I have to be the one to suffer for it because I remember I voted (ex-president) Jonathan and I was bullied but I didn’t put blame on anyone after everyone chose (ex-president) Buhari. So please why would they be cursing and trolling me every time.”
Further probed by Otunba, who asked if she believed Tinubu had failed in governance at the moment, Abraham emphasized her focus on her life and career, asserting that she is neither a politician nor in government, and she has learned to keep her political choices private.
In 2023, Abraham had shared images of her meeting with the then-presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Tinubu, alongside the Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, expressing hope and confidence in his leadership vision.
