Controversial Nigerian artist, Habeeb Okikiola, widely known as Portable, is back in the recording studio following his recent release from police custody.
On Thursday, Portable teased a snippet of his upcoming song titled “Spiderman,” inspired by his arrest due to defaulting on payments for his G-Wagon SUV.
Produced by 2tuponthebeat, the track metaphorically highlights Portable’s agility, referencing how he evaded arrest by leaping over a gate, an incident captured in a circulating video where he was seen alongside eight others.
Following 24 hours in custody, the “Zazuu” singer regained freedom after meeting bail conditions.
This isn’t Portable’s first brush with controversy. In March 2023, he was arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for cursing and physically confronting some police officers, leading to viral video clips. Despite police summonses, Portable initially refused to comply, prompting a 72-hour ultimatum and subsequent arrest.
In another incident, he faced arrest and was later arraigned on five charges, including assault and theft, at the Ifo Magistrates’ Court in Ogun State. After meeting bail requirements, he was released from Ilaro Correctional Centre.
