Former House Representative Shina Peller Refutes Allegations of Snubbing Power Minister

Shina Peller, a former member of the House of Representatives, dismissed reports on Tuesday alleging that he ignored the Minister of Power, Bayo Adelabu, during a recent event in Lagos State.
Representing Iseyin, Itesiwaju, Iwajowa, and Kajola Federal Constituency in Oyo State during the 9th Assembly, Peller clarified this in a statement shared on his social media platforms and also provided to journalists in Ibadan, the state capital.
The statement addressed a circulating video on social media purportedly showing Peller ignoring the minister. Peller countered this by sharing a video showing himself and the minister warmly embracing and greeting each other at the event.
In part, the statement read, “I wish to address the recent circulating video alleging a snub of Minister Adelabu by myself. I want to clarify that these allegations are baseless. The Minister and I have always had a respectful relationship, and I indeed greeted him at the event. The dissemination of this video seems to be motivated by factors not aligned with the truth. Minister Adelabu himself can attest to this, as I greeted him.”
Peller emphasized the importance of greetings in his faith as a Muslim, stating that it is considered an act of charity. He expressed that extending greetings aligns with his values and principles in interactions with others, asserting that it’s not in his nature to snub people regardless of the circumstances or his relationship with them.
Peller, who vied for a Senate seat in the 2023 elections under the All Progressives Congress, later switched to the Peoples Democratic Party.
