Senate President Vows to Uphold Dignity of Nigerian Workers

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has pledged collaborative efforts between the National Assembly and the executive branch to secure a living wage and improved working conditions for Nigerian workers.

Akpabio emphasized that no Nigerian worker would endure inhumane conditions under his watch, affirming, “We will spare no effort in providing you with the highest standards, as you rightfully deserve.”

His remarks, conveyed through a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Eseme Eyiboh, coincided with the commemoration of the 2024 May Day.

Acknowledging the exemplary qualities of Nigerian workers, Akpabio praised their patriotism, diligence, and unwavering commitment to duty, a testament to their enduring spirit.

Reflecting on this year’s theme, “Ensuring safety and health at work in a changing climate,” Akpabio underscored the National Assembly’s dedication to enhancing working conditions in alignment with global standards. He assured that Nigeria would remain at the forefront of this endeavor.
