President Tinubu Designates April 7 as National Police Day

President Bola Tinubu has officially designated April 7 as National Police Day, announced by Vice President Kashim during the inaugural commendations event organized by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) in Abuja on Monday night.

In his speech titled “Courage Under Fire: A Bouquet for Our Police Force,” delivered on behalf of the President, Vice President Shettima emphasized the resilience of Nigerian citizens amidst security challenges and attacks on their lives and livelihoods, attributing it to the unwavering dedication of the police.

Acknowledging the strain on Nigeria’s security architecture, Shettima reiterated the administration’s commitment to revitalizing the Nigeria Police Force into a modern, professional, and accountable institution aligned with national values and aspirations.

He outlined comprehensive reforms undertaken by the administration, including significant investments in training and capacity-building to equip police officers with the necessary skills, values, and expertise for modern policing challenges. Additionally, plans are underway to upgrade equipment and technology to enhance the operational effectiveness and efficiency of the force.
