Federal Government Appeals to Electricity Workers Amid Tariff Hike Dispute

The Federal Government finds itself at a critical juncture as it pleads with members of the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) to reconsider their stance amidst looming threats of strike over the recent electricity tariff hike. Despite the government’s entreaties, the union remains steadfast in its resolve to withdraw services if the tariff hike is not revoked for Band A customers.
Adebiyi Adeyeye, the National President of NUEE, reiterated the union’s unwavering stance, emphasizing the impracticality of providing 20 hours of electricity with the current infrastructure.
