The appointment, effective June 1, 2024, follows the tenure of the current GMD, Dr. Ebenezer Onyeagwu, whose term ends on May 31.

  9. Dr. Umeoji is recognized for her contributions to nation-building and was honored with the national award of Officer of the Order of the Niger by the Federal Government in 2022.
  10. Furthermore, she serves as a Peace Advocate of the United Nations (UN-POLAC) and is the founder of the Catholic Bankers Association of Nigeria.

With over 30 years of experience in the banking sector, Dr. Umeoji has held the position of Deputy Managing Director at Zenith Bank since October 28, 2016.
