Bauchi Governor Appoints Former Commissioners as Special Advisers Following Cabinet Reshuffle
Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has appointed three of his former commissioners as special advisers, just 48 hours after dismissing them from their previous roles. The new appointments, effective immediately, were announced in a statement on Tuesday by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado.
The appointments are part of the governor’s broader strategy to strengthen his administration’s leadership, promote inclusivity, and advance the state’s development goals.
The appointees include Abdulhameed Bununu, the former Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, now serving as Special Adviser on Multilateral Coordination and Regional Integration; Usman Danturaki, the former Commissioner for Information and Communication, appointed as Special Adviser on Labour Matters and Contributory Pension Scheme; and Madugu Yalams, the former Commissioner for Agriculture, who now assumes the role of Special Adviser on Technical and Vocational Education.
Governor Mohammed expressed confidence in the appointees, urging them to apply their expertise, experience, and dedication to their new roles in order to help realize his vision for Bauchi State. He called on them to execute their responsibilities with diligence, transparency, and a renewed focus on enhancing the lives of the people of Bauchi State.
In addition, the statement emphasized the governor’s continued commitment to good governance, accountability, and inclusive development for all citizens of the state.
Earlier on Tuesday, Governor Mohammed reshuffled his cabinet, dismissing five commissioners. He explained that the reshuffling is aimed at revitalizing governance and ensuring the delivery of optimal services to the people of Bauchi State.
