Operatives from the Onikan Division of the Lagos Police Command have made a significant arrest in connection with ongoing vandalism issues affecting the Third Mainland Bridge. The suspect, identified as 28-year-old Yakubu Yusuf, was apprehended after authorities received credible tips about illegal activities occurring in the area. This information prompted a swift response from the police, leading to Yusuf’s capture near the Old School of Nursing section of the bridge.
In an official statement released on X.com by the Lagos State Police Command on Wednesday, it was revealed that the operation was initiated in response to numerous complaints regarding the deterioration of the bridge’s railings, which pose a safety risk to commuters and pedestrians alike.
