PDP Suspends Senator Dino Melaye, Former Governor Samuel Ortom, and Others Over Alleged Misconduct and Anti-Party Activities

Senator Dino Melaye, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has been suspended over alleged anti-party activities. The suspension, announced on Friday, was decided by the Ayetoro/Iluagba Ward 1 party executive committee after a review by a disciplinary committee.

In a recent development, Samuel Ortom, the former Governor of Benue State, has been suspended from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of Benue State due to accusations of engaging in activities deemed contrary to the party’s interests.
In a related move, Senator Gabriel Suswam and several others have been summoned by the Benue State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in connection with allegations of serious misconduct and actions deemed detrimental to the party. The resolution to suspend Senator Dino Melaye stated:“Senator Dino Melaye’s actions have caused significant embarrassment and damage to the party, rendering his continued membership untenable.
“Consequently, the Ward party executive committee (exco) has decided to suspend Dino Melaye from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), effective immediately.
“This suspension is in accordance with Article 59 (1) of the PDP constitution, which authorizes the Ward party excos to enforce disciplinary measures against members who violate party standards.”
