On Monday, the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) inaugurated a five-member caretaker committee to oversee the party’s operations in Gombe State for the next six months. This move follows the National Working Committee’s decision to dissolve party structures in five states, including Gombe.

The newly appointed caretaker committee comprises Abdullahi Mohammed as Chairman, with Sulaiman Hamza, Abubakar Kalagar as Secretary, Dauda Muhammad Bajoga, and Ambrose Ismail as members.

During the inauguration, the committee Chairman urged party members to embrace unity and extend their full support to ensure the effective management of the party’s affairs during this transitional period.

He stated, “I am honored and deeply committed as I announce the successful inauguration of the new Caretaker Committee for the Gombe State Chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples Party.”

He continued, “This committee has been formed to reinforce the party’s structures and promote inclusiveness as we gear up for future political activities.”

In his address, the caretaker committee chairman emphasized the need for peace and unity, urging all members to come together.

Abubakar Kalagar, Coordinator for Gombe Central, also urged party members to unite in strengthening the party. He encouraged them to share their perspectives to help advance the party’s objectives. Kalagar added, “This committee will oversee the party’s affairs for the next six months, after which a Congress will be convened to elect new leadership.”
