A Word to Those Criticizing the Song “No Turning Back”.

When a pastor or anyone in ministry begins to criticize a move of God — especially something like the song “No Turning Back”, from a place of hatred, pride, or ignorance of Scripture, it’s important we speak truth in love, but also with boldness.

Who said the Gospel must be preached in a particular format?

Paul said:

“I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.” 1 Corinthians 9:22–23 (NIV)

The message of Christ is sacred — but the method is not. Paul adjusted his approach to reach different audiences. Why should we bind the Gospel to one sound, one rhythm, or one tradition?

Who said a song must be slow to be godly?

Psalm 150 commands:

“Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise Him with the harp and lyre, praise Him with timbrel and dancing, praise Him with the strings and pipe, praise Him with the clash of cymbals, praise Him with resounding cymbals.” Psalm 150:3–5 (NIV)

God celebrates creativity, rhythm, and sound in worship. The issue isn’t the beat — it’s the heart behind it. If the message glorifies Christ and leads souls to Him, then it is holy.

Who said holiness is tied to a particular outfit?

Jesus rebuked the Pharisees for this very mindset:

“You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence.”

— Matthew 23:25 (NIV)

Yes, modesty matters — as long as your dressing is in moderation and you are not leading anyone astray, God is not measuring your righteousness by fabric but by faith.

“The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7 (NIV)

Who said social media is evil?

Social media is a tool. Like a microphone or a pen, it reflects the user. God is using these platforms to spread revival, truth, and testimonies — even as some condemn them.

Remember Joseph’s words:

“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.” Genesis 50:20 (NIV)

Don’t curse the new wine because it doesn’t come in the old wineskin (Luke 5:37–38).

To pastors and leaders: It’s time to adapt.

If you are truly called to shepherd God’s people, preach the Word, not a message of hatred.

The same God who used a donkey to speak, a fisherman to lead, and a former persecutor to plant churches — is now using songs like No Turning Back to spark revival.

Let’s not fight what God is using. Let’s discern, not despise. Let’s support what lifts Jesus up.

The message of the Cross remains. The method can evolve.

As long as Jesus is glorified, souls are drawn, and truth is preached — let us not be Pharisees at the gates of revival. Let us be those who fan the flame.

No turning back. Not now. Not ever.
