Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group, has unveiled the first sample of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, from his new refinery. The presentation took place on Tuesday during a broadcast from the refinery located in the Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos State.

The refinery, which has a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, is currently conducting a test run of the product.

In his address, Dangote extended his gratitude to the Nigerian people and President Bola Tinubu’s administration for fostering an environment conducive to growth and development. He also expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for the introduction of the Naira-for-Crude policy, which he believes will enhance the stability of the Naira.

Aliko Dangote highlighted the operational capabilities of his new refinery, noting that it will provide accurate insights into Nigeria’s true consumption of petrol. “With this refinery operational, we will be able to track every loaded truck and ship,” he stated.

Dangote also emphasized that the refinery is poised to meet not just the demands of Nigeria but also those of the broader sub-Saharan Africa region.
