BBNaija Season 9 kicks off with new twist, introduces duo housemates
Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) has kicked off its highly anticipated Season 9, titled ‘No Loose Guard,’ introducing a fresh twist to the popular reality show. This season features the innovative ‘Dynamic Duo’ concept, where contestants are paired up to compete as a team.
The new group of housemates will reside in the house for 71 days, aiming for fame and the grand prize. In the previous All-Stars edition, 20-year-old model Ilebaye Odiniya took home the grand prize of N120 million. This season’s winner will receive N100 million in cash along with other rewards. Additionally, an exclusive recap show called ‘The Buzz,’ hosted by Toke Makinwa, is available on Showmax. The show premiered on July 28th at 7 PM Nigerian time, with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu returning as the host.
The first pair to enter the house were Chinwe and Zion (Zinwe), a couple who have been together for five months. They were followed by Femi David and Michael, also known as “The Radicals.” Next came DJ Flo and Rhuthee (Flourish), and then the aunt-niece duo, Chinne and Nne, referred to as “Ndi Nne.” Topher and Sooj (Aces) and Shaun and Victoria (Shatoria) were the fifth and sixth pairs, respectively. The seventh pair, twins Handi and Wanni (WannixHandi), were followed by TJay and Ben (BETA), and another set of twins, Ozee and Ocee (Mbadiwe twins). Damilola and Toyosi (TAMI), long-time friends, entered as the tenth pair.
The eleventh pair, Anita and Nelly (Nelita), have been friends for nine years, while Toby Forge and Mayor Frosh (Streeze) came in as the twelfth pair. The thirteenth pair, Kassia and Kellyrae (DoubleKay), are married but entered the house disguised as singles. The final pair, Chizoba and Onyeka (Chekas), completed the lineup of 28 contestants for the 2024 BBNaija Season 9.
Each duo will face tasks, challenges, and nominations together, making teamwork crucial for their survival in the house.
