On Wednesday, a Rep led by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen, visited the Global Headquarters of CATL in Ningde, China. CATL is recognized as the world’s largest manufacturer of electric vehicle (EV) batteries. This visit marks a crucial step in Nigeria’s pursuit of renewable energy ambitions.
They, comprising Nasarawa State Governor H.E. Abdullahi Sule and Dr. Lazarus Angbazo, MD/CEO of the Infrastructure Corporation of Nigeria (InfraCorp), visited CATL’s advanced production facilities. During the tour, they observed the company’s state-of-the-art automated production lines and engaged in discussions regarding potential collaborations.
Following the tour of CATL’s advanced production facilities, the delegation met with CATL’s Executive Management to discuss the progress of Nigeria’s Evergreen City, a designated zone for renewable energy technology manufacturing.
They expressed enthusiasm about the potential partnership with CATL, known for supplying major companies such as Tesla and BMW. They acknowledged that significant work lies ahead before concrete achievements can be celebrated. Updates on the project’s progress will be shared with Nigerians as developments unfold.
