Osigwe, who previously served as the general secretary of the NBA, won the presidency in the 2024 NBA election conducted online over a specific time period. This announcement marks a significant acknowledgment from Tinubu within the legal and professional community.
Afam Josiah Osigwe secured a substantial victory in the 2024 NBA election, as the final vote count announced on Sunday afternoon revealed. Osigwe garnered over 20,000 votes, surpassing his two main contenders in the race for the presidency of the Nigerian Bar Association. This strong support underscores his mandate and signifies the confidence placed in him by the members of the NBA.
Afam Josiah Osigwe defeated his closest rival, Tobenna Erojikwe, Chairman of the NBA-Institute of Continuing Legal Education Governing Council, who secured 10,998 votes. Chukwuka Ikwuazom (SAN), former NBA Lagos Branch Chairman, received 9,018 votes in the 2024 NBA election.
