Macaroni Explains Why He Accused Wizkid of Disrespecting Don Jazzy

Comedian and actor, Adebowale Adedayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, has elaborated on his statement alleging that Wizkid disrespected Mavin Records boss, Michael Ajereh, aka Don Jazzy, by referring to him as an ‘influencer’.

During a live show on Wazobia TV in Lagos on Wednesday, Macaroni defended his stance, acknowledging Don Jazzy as possibly the most significant entertainment influencer in Africa. He emphasized that while Wizkid’s characterization of Don Jazzy as an influencer might be accurate, the manner in which it was presented came across as disrespectful.

Macaroni highlighted Don Jazzy’s immense influence across the entertainment spectrum, particularly within the music industry. He pointed out Don Jazzy’s pivotal role in shaping the careers of numerous artists, from the era of D’banj and Wande Coal to the emergence of newer talents under the Mavin Records imprint.

According to Macaroni, Don Jazzy’s influence transcends music, extending into film and content creation. He described Don Jazzy as a champion whose impact on the industry cannot be overlooked.

However, Macaroni criticized Wizkid’s choice of words, particularly when he stated, “I can’t chat with an influencer,” finding the context of the remark disrespectful.

Previously, Wizkid had stirred controversy with tweets mocking Davido and Don Jazzy, drawing criticism from various celebrities, including Cubana Chief Priest.
