David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, extends his support to renowned chess Master, Tunde Onakoya, as he endeavors to break the Guinness World Record for the longest chess marathon. Alongside Davido, other notable figures such as Adekunle Gold, Nigeria’s Consul-General in New York City, Ambassador Peter Egopija, and Omoyele Sowore have also thrown their weight behind Onakoya’s remarkable feat.

Onakoya provides regular updates on his progress via his X account, sharing his determination as he reaches the halfway mark after 31 hours of intense gameplay. The event, unfolding at New York City’s iconic Times Square, commenced at 10 am on Wednesday, April 17, and is slated to conclude at 8 pm on April 19.

The chess marathon, a test of endurance and skill, sees Onakoya striving to play for an impressive 58 hours without facing defeat.
