Federal Road Safety Corps Intensifies Easter Patrol Operations with Mobile Courts

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced the establishment of more than 200 mobile courts to prosecute traffic offenders during the Easter special patrol operations nationwide.
In a statement released on Wednesday by the corps’ Public Education Officer, Jonas Agwu, it was revealed that the initiative aims to ensure a safe and smooth Easter celebration in 2024.
Agwu emphasized that the deployment of mobile courts is part of the comprehensive strategy to enhance road safety during the festive period. He cited the Corps Marshal, Dauda Biu, who urged commanding officers to ensure the full deployment of staff for maximum visibility and to promptly clear obstructions on all highways across the country.
The Easter special patrol, scheduled to run from March 29 to April 2, 2024, aims at reducing road traffic crashes, fatalities, and injuries. According to Biu, the operational guidelines emphasize the importance of swift responses to road traffic crash victims.
Agwu outlined the aggressive enforcement measures to be undertaken during the patrol, including the operation of over 200 mobile courts to address various traffic offenses such as speeding, dangerous driving, lane indiscipline, road obstructions, phone usage while driving, and overloading.
Furthermore, the FRSC disclosed that it has deployed a significant number of patrol vehicles, administrative vehicles, and ambulances across the country to ensure effective monitoring and response during the Easter special patrol.
